Anyway, on top of all the cool new features at the site/forum, John has found time to put together another big contest (you can read about his last huge contest on DotDriven). I’ve known about it for a while now but have been slacking and only getting to post this now even though it’s last minute. So sorry to John for late post as I know part of it was to promote the contest and not all that valuable posting last minute. But at least you’ll get longterm link love ;). Besides, for those that miss this contest because of my last minute post about it, DNXpert is bound to have another great contest in the future so get on over there and keep up-to-date yourself ;). Better yet make sure I know about it too lol…been really busy stuck offline a lot lately, unfortunately.

One of the task to earn extra “entries” was to write a blog post about which prize I’d like most. You can check out all the great prizes and sponsors on the DNXpert contest page.

Although I could use plenty of the great prizes, the one/s I could really use most now is one of the actual cash prizes. Unforuntately a major part of why I have been stuck offline so much lately is I’ve been really tapped out of cash. I recently got married (yay) but also now have a ton of bills (boo). And my online stuff just isn’t cutting it anymore. I mean now I have to actually “provide” and plan a future so I’ve been kind of hurtin. So any of the cash prizes would help a lot.

But regardless of who offered what for the contest a huge thanks to all the great sponsors and especially to John for yet another great contest!

Anyway, Keith James Lock has a great post on how to turn a simple WordPress blog into a user review and ratings site. Not sure how user reviews can help make you money? Well take his personal test site as an example…his Hotels In Windsor blog is converted into a simple and clean user review site. Real people who have stayed at the hotels leave their review and comments. By using TravelNow he then adds affiliate links for people to make reservations at those very hotels being reviewed. In some cases the same people doing the reivews may end up booking more lodging through links so not only do they help with the content but also become great leads. I mean if they took the time to write a review of previous stays, they just might come back to the site to check out other peoples reviews on other places they may stay as well as coming back to leave new reviews.

So, as you can see, it’s an excellent way to get some decent little review sites up and get your visitors to help build the reviews. I think it would work best with really targeted topics/products but you could put one of these sites up for plenty of different things…not just travel. What about a TV review site? Or maybe a video game review site? Everyone has opinons and people love making others hear their opinion lol. So take advatage of that and let them help you make some money ;).

Anyway, DNXPERT is one of those other blogs that offers great list and good stories and news as well.
